Getting Started with Trend Watch

Trend Watch is the top trends amongst the popular upcoming and latest releases on Steam, right on your dashboard. It combines Steam’s Popular Upcoming list with the top sellers from the last 30 days, then groups similar games into clusters so you can spot what is building momentum without leaving your dashboard.

What Trend Watch shows you

Each card is a cluster of similar games, grouped by shared attributes like genre and theme. A card includes:

  • Up to 5 keyword chips describing what the games in the cluster have in common
  • A grid of member-game capsule images
  • A list of member games, each with a title, thumbnail, and one stat

The stat depends on whether the game has released:

  • Coming Soon games show estimated wishlists plus the change over the last 90 days, e.g. “12K wishlists (+15%)”
  • Released games show estimated Steam sales plus the change over the last 90 days, e.g. “45K sold (-3%)”

Click any member game to open its page. On the Free plan you’ll see a preview of the game, with the full analysis on paid plans. Games without enough data yet are left out of a cluster’s list rather than shown with a broken or empty stat, so if a cluster looks thin, check back after the next data pull.

Trend Watch starts by showing the most hyped clusters across all of Steam. As you bookmark segments in Game Gap, save projects in Concept Compass, or build up a search history in Data Explorer, it increasingly favours clusters relevant to the ideas you are actually exploring.

Use the pagination controls under the cards to move through the full list, up to 10 pages.

Free vs subscriber access

Free accounts see the first 4 trend clusters. The remaining slots sit behind an “Upgrade for Full Access” prompt that unlocks the rest of the list, personalised to your research.

FAQ

Why don’t I see stats for every game in a cluster?

A game only shows a stat once we have enough wishlist or sales data behind it. New or very small titles may need another data pull before they appear.
